Whippoorwill Southern Pea Seeds

Whippoorwill Peas are a very old variety of cowpeas. It is believed that they were grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. These peas are drought tolerant and will grow in pretty much any soil. They grow a 5-6ft very productive vine with pods of 8-10 peas each that can be enjoyed fresh or dried. The peas have a buttery, creamy somewhat nutty flavor and texture. Minimum 40 seeds.

Direct sow after last frost. Will need trellis for support.
